I'm working on a surprise for him this morning. As I type this, he's still asleep upstairs. There is a blackberry upside-down cake baking in the oven (see? more proof for those who follow me on Twitter that I don't just bake cupcakes). I have my fingers crossed that it comes out as planned!

This looks amazing - I'm going to have to try it. Thanks for the recipe link. My wild blackberries went NUTS this year and this looks like a great way to utilize some of them!
